History

The ME-WIIN (Middle East Women Inventors & Innovators Network) International is to be staged for the first time on 5 & 6 April 2017 in the heart of Dubai in celebration and recognition of women involved in creating viable new ideas, exceptional creativity, innovation, research development and enterprise.

A significant aspect of the event includes the presentation of Honorary Special Recognition Awards to outstanding ingenious women. It would include the official opening of a series of calls for nominations of Awards across the Middle-East therefore including Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Algeria and other Middle East countries.

In celebration and in recognition of ingenious women at the ME-WIIN event, would be presented to women of substance from various parts of the Middle East. The occasion would put the spotlight on women from a diversity of backgrounds that include brilliant exceptionally creative, inventive, innovative, entrepreneurs, scientists, engineers, technologists, or designers from all sectors right across the Middle East and beyond.

The ME-WIIN International forms part of the Global Women Inventors & Innovators Network (GWIIN), a non-profit, non-governmental, nonpolitical global organisation with the head office based in London, United Kingdom.

GWIIN has the clear aim of combining technology and knowledge transfer to achieve greater impact while helping women promote their ideas so that other young women would be inspired to follow in their footsteps and consider careers associated with being inventive and innovative.

GWIIN’s track record has grown significantly over the years as it continues to stage initiatives that include research projects and feasibility studies, conferences and award ceremonies which have taken place across parts of Europe, Africa, Northern America and Asia Pacific.
